FOVIAL

FOVIAL is El Salvadors equivalent of your states department of transportation. In Virginia I know we had VDOT, and FOVIAL remind me of them in a lot of ways.
FOVIAL is the road repair agency.

Whenever there is a bridge out or a damaged road FOVIAL will be on it. Lately I have been seeing a lot of FOVIAL, even cleaning the sides of the road, cutting grass and repairing damaged bridges. I was ready to say they were on top of things but a great reader of this blog (George) brought it to my attention that there is a bridge out and FOVIAL has not showed. Here is a direct quote:

"There is a major bridge out on CA-2 from San Luis Talpa to Costa del Sol. There has been no work on it as yet. When the rains come it will be more of a mess than it is right now, with a detour made of dirt and gravel. We'll hope that they are going to get on that one soon. George. "

Goes FOVIAL still has some ways to go. Out in La Paz away from the major city I have seen quite a bit of FOVIAL but maybe they need to be fixing that major bridge instead of cutting grass. Hopefully with time it will get better but atleast they are out there.
