MetroCentro is located in San Salvador.
The last time I went to MetroCentro I noticed a few things I didn't before.
Hardware/Houseware - In the courtyard section of metrocentro there is a store which resembles a small version of homedepot. You can find bathroom sinks, lighting fixtures, bathroom mirrors, kitchen hoods, etc. They have just about everything including those modern bar lights. Good prices aswell.
Mascotas Ejecutivas - A pet store. Located at the far end (Atrium) on the bottom level. You can find rare dog breeds such as miniatures and huskies. Fish, fish tanks, turtles and supplies. Prices are very decent, they have a purebred pre-vaccinated (and well cared for) husky at $175.
Max - In the courtyard area, large electronics chain. You can find about anything best buy would have including ipods, tvs, video game consoles, etc.
(2) Food Courts - Papa Johns, Nash, China Wok, Wendys, Pizza Hut, Little Ceasers, Subway, Biggest, Pollo Campero, KFC.
Pap Johns, Little Ceasers and Pizza Hut taste identical to anywhere else. Prices are identical aswell. I assume they import the frozen dough as Pizza Hut does in the USA and then cook it to order.
Nash -- Chain which came from the Southern USA. Good food, they have pizza, burgers, fries, etc.
Wendys - Some different variations of USA menu aswell as original menu, all taste identical, same chicken, same bacon, etc. Delicious. Currently upping the sizes so for price of a med combo it comes as a large.
China Wok - Not my fav chinese fast food, more cantonese style but still very good. You can find bourbon chicken, etc.
Subway - A little different taste but same style you enjoy.
Biggest - Great restaurant from El Salvador (fast food). Hamburgers, small subs/sandwiches & delicious chicken!
Pollo Campero - Think KFC but better. The food is spectacular.
KFC - Identical to USA version.
There are also 4 cyber computer stores which have everything from headphone adapters to motherboards and hard drives.
On the second level of the Atrium you can find several stores with cool house items such as wooden ships, metal statues, etc. There is an entire store of steel / gold metal statues including some life sized. Very cool.
Near the entrance to MetroCentro from Super Selectos you will find a gameroom with some very good arcade games including Time Crisis, Air Hockey, etc.
There is another ample sized one near the entrance to the Cinemark (Movie Theater).
The Cinemark movie theater is very nice they play everything in Spanish and also a version with English and just spanish subtitles.
Prices are decent, Wed has discounts. Looks like a Cinemark in the USA, big, full of lights, great seating.
MetroCentro def. has whatever you might need so if you have any weird desires be sure to visit MetroCentro.
For weird products check out La Bomba, I found some great artificial plants, kids toys, bathroom stuff, cheap clothes and shoes (but good brands), etc.
Inside Metrocentro you can also find service centers and a sale center for: DeCameron (Resorts), Taca and Delta airlines.

I have just bought a house in San Salvador Colonia Escalon to turn into a bed & breakfast type guest house. My wife & I bought the house with my brother. My wife is Salvadoran, but has lived in the US since 1972. We have traveled to El Salvador nearly every year since my first trip in 1982. I love the country, and would like to live there full time. But my wife wants us to maintain a residence in the US as well. I just returned to California after nearly 4 months in San Salvador. My wife and I will be returning in about 2 weeks. Meanwhile the house is being painted and refurbished, and should be ready for guests early in April. Your site is very interesting. I hope the get discovered by more people. Your comments on internet service were excellent. I had a Tigo plug-in USB wireless modem while there which cost $30.00 a month. It was adequate for Skype video, e-mail, and regular internet sites like yahoo etc. It was not fast enough for streaming video like watching US TV shows. Also it would disconnect during periods of heavy internet use if a bandwidth hog such as streaming video was in use. All in all an OK service at a good price in spite of its limitations.
